HIV/AIDS Statistical Data in China

HIV in China
There are currently an estimated 740,000 people living with HIV in China, including about 105,000 AIDS patients. In 2009, China reported that AIDs had become the country’s leading cause of death among infectious dieases for the first time ever, surpassing both tuberculosis and rabies.
The Current Situation
Yunnan, Guangxi, Henan, Sichuan, Xingiang and Guangdong are provinces with the highest number of reported cases of HIV and AIDS. In total they represent around 70 to 80 percent of the national total.
